2 Days 1 Night Itinerary — Camping Adventure

Day 1 — Jakarta / Bandung → Garut → Crater Trek → Camp (Pondok Saladah)

Pick-up: 06:00 – 07:00 (Jakarta / Bandung)

  • Drive to Mount Papandayan basecamp (approx. 3–4 hours from Jakarta depending on traffic)
  • Registration & safety briefing
  • 45–60 minute easy crater trek (explore fumaroles & sulfur fields)
  • Visit the Dead Forest (Hutan Mati) – iconic photography spot
  • Trek to Pondok Saladah campsite and set up tents
  • Sunset viewing, dinner and campfire (when permitted)

Day 2 — Sunrise → Tegal Alun (Edelweiss Valley) → Return

Wake-up: 04:30 — early sunrise trek to viewpoint

  • Sunrise trek to viewpoint for panoramic photos above the clouds
  • Breakfast at campsite
  • Trek to Tegal Alun (Edelweiss fields) and explore the meadow
  • Return to basecamp, pack up, descend to parking
  • Lunch with local Sundanese food then drive back to Jakarta / Bandung
