MEET UP PLACE & TIME:
Bogor Train Station at 7.00 am
(If you are staying at Hostel in jakarta area then you should go to the nearest Train Station at about 5.15 am, buy a train ticket/ card at Train Station and choose Destination to Bogor for roundtrip)
RETURN PLACE & TIME:
Bogor train Station at about 5.00 pm. (and you continue going to Jakarta by train then)
ITINERARY:
all Participants meet up the crew (driver or guide) at Bogor train station at 7.00 am, and drive to mount Halimun Salak National Park for about 2 hours. on the way we will see some wonderful view and landscape of rice plantation, rice terrace, local people activities such as farmers, student etc. do hiking through the jungle of rain forest for about 2 hours then will be arrived in Crater which is located in the middle of the jungle forest. Explore the active Crater by coming down inside to closely see an amazing landscape of active crater. thrill walk on Lava floor to watch the volcano’s activities such as bubling cold lava, smoked, sulphur, gass hissing, white river and hotspring river trekking back into the jungle to visit and swim in a beautifull nature waterfalls in the middle of jungle. continue trekking to car park and prepare to leave. leave mount Halimun Salak National Park and drive back to Bogor city and drop you off at Bogor train station. tour finished. (and you continue going to Jakarta by train on your own cost then)

I had such a great time with Ridwan on his Volcano hike and jungle trekking tour. I can definitely recommend it! He and his driver picked us up early at the hostel and the feeling was good right from the start. The drive to the volcano takes around 2 hours but we stopped along the way where Ridwan explained/ showed things about the local Indonesian life. The hike takes you through a lush, green rainforest. Be aware: it is a rainforest so lots of muddy puddles so your shoes get soaked and dirty, but that is part of the jungle experience. The crater of the volcano is amazing and makes you feel you are on another planet. It is possible to swim in one of the hot springs there, which is a special experience in itself. On the way back we passed the waterfall for some pictures and the option to swim there as well. The most amazing thing is during the whole trip we didn't see any other tourists. These are absolutely beautiful places to visit but without any of the overcrowdedness of most touristy places. Thank you again, Ridwan!
My partner and I were arrived in Jakarta and booked a trek with Ridwan to Mt. Salak. Ridwan went out of his way to accommodate us—offered a pickup from our hotel in Jakarta (2hours from the start point) and after meeting us, walked through the local customs, traditions etc. before the trek. During the trek, he made sure everything was taken care of. Language was not at all a barrier and we enjoyed every description Ridwan shared with us. He clicked a lot of beautiful pictures of us, offered raincoats fruits when he didn’t have to, and the meal he carried for us—which we ate at the top spot of the volcano—was delicious. I would highly recommend the Salak trek if you are in Jakarta, or one of the other experiences Ridwan has to offer.
